Beaming in by video at CinemaCon, J.J. Abrams in introducing a work-in-progress clip for Overlord casually mentioned “It’s not a Cloverfield movie” but one “is in the works for theaters.”
He provided no further details, keeping the focus on Bad Robot’s first R-rated movie Overlord, a sci-fi film mixed with World War II. The pic hits theaters on Oct. 26 this year.
Recently, Paramount unloaded the previous administration’s The Cloverfield Paradox to Netflix on Super Bowl Sunday. It was simply right for OTT audiences. Combined Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane have grossed $281M WW.
